Meet Myrnel Gegu
LCSW-S is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board-Certified Supervisor in Texas and Connecticut. Originally from Haiti and raised in Chicago, she brings over a decade of experience in psychosocial case management, crisis intervention, MST in-home therapy, individual and group therapy, biopsychosocial assessments, discharge planning, care coordination, program development, and mental health and substance use treatment for adults and adolescents. She is skilled in DSM-5 diagnosis and clinical supervision.

Myrnel is the founder of Threaded Connections, established in October 2020 in Hartford, CT. Recognizing the heightened need for therapy and supervision services during the pandemic, she launched a virtual practice to provide accessible mental health care—particularly for individuals seeking a Black therapist—and to support aspiring clinicians through effective and personalized supervision.
She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Oakwood University in 2011 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut in 2013. Passionate about mentoring MSW students and guiding clinicians toward their LCSW, Myrnel is dedicated to equip social workers with the clinical skills and competencies needed to serve clients effectively.
She looks forward to the opportunity to support and supervise the next generation of social workers.
